Sicilian village houses for sale for 1 euro

In your pocket, one euro was accidentally lying around? If so, then you can use it profitably by purchasing one of the small houses in a Sicilian village.

In the small village of Gangi, which was founded back in the 12th century, about 20 houses are for sale, the value of which cannot but shock: you can buy real estate here for only 1 euro. It is worth noting that for this money you will be guaranteed silence - in recent years the ranks of local residents have been significantly empty: many Italians often move from the provinces to large cities in search of work and opportunities.

It is for this reason that the authorities of the province of Palermo, in which the village of Ganji is located, are trying to "populate" the empty houses and streets again, offering foreigners to purchase housing here for a ridiculous amount of money. However, Mary Wester, a realtor for Sicilian Houses, admits that over the years of her work, Ganji has remained an unsolved mystery to her. "Representatives of municipalities do not always have the skills to put forward local state property for sale, but they nevertheless tend to" breathe life "into some abandoned regions."

Wester, who is directly related to the sale of houses in Ganji, honestly replies that the condition of real estate offered to foreigners is very deplorable, as they were either abandoned long ago or handed over to local residents who were unable to take care of them. "The authorities hope that foreign buyers will be able to put their local acquisitions in order. Everyone is well aware that young people are not trying to stay in Ganji. Therefore, this project is simply amazing."

Given the condition of the houses for sale, realtors warn that the purchase of a house in the province of Palermo will not cost only one euro. Making a purchase of real estate in Sicily will fly a penny, namely at 6,000 euros, which is considered the standard amount for the purchase of houses on the island. Moreover, when buying a house in Ganji, the future owner agrees to repair it and restore it in proper form within five years.

Wester warns that the cost of completing the purchase is likely to be high. “You will need to find a person who would repair the roof, floors, establish a water supply system. All this can cost about 35 thousand euros. But for the money you get a magnificent house in a great place!” Speaking of buying, a realtor is sure that this is just a great deal. "The cuisine here is amazing. Old-fashioned foundations, friendly people and great food. If you come here, in the very near future you will make friends and become a center of universal attention. You will not be denied assistance. You will become part of the local population, no one will consider you a stranger. "
