Milano Card - how to save money for tourists in Milan?

Advanced travelers can save tens of euros in Milan by purchasing the Milano Card online. What bonuses does the card give?

For 24 hours, the card costs 8 euros, for 48 hours - 14 euros, and for 72 hours - 19 euros.

Consider, for example, a 48-hour Milano card worth 14 euros. The card already includes a ticket for all modes of transport for 8.25 euros, so we have to beat off at least 14-8.25 = 5.75 euros.

Discounts for museums and attractions

Within 48 hours from the moment of activation, you can take advantage of discounts in the amount of:

  • 6 euros (50%) to the observation deck, the rooftop shopping gallery of Victor Emmanuel II (Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II). Open all days except Monday, from 10:00 to 13:00 and from 16:00 to 23:00. It is a great idea to look at the city and the Duomo from a different angle. The entrance is located at Via Silvio Pellico 2. A separate ticket for 12 euros can be bought here. The first 20 visitors with the Milano Card are free, so it makes sense to arrive by 10 in the morning.
  • 1 or 2 euros (10%) for the Hop On Hop Off Milan bus sightseeing tour.
  • 3 euro (20%) to visit the AC Milan Football Club Museum at via Aldo Rossi 8. The museum is open daily from 10:00 to 19:00. A regular ticket costs 15 euros, and you pay 12.
  • € 3.60 (30%) for visiting the Armani Museum (Armani Silos)at Via Bergognone 40. Pay 8.40 euros instead of 12. The museum is open on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from 11:00 to 19:00, and on Thursday and Saturday from 11:00 to 21:00.
  • 2 euros (33%) for a visit to the Museum of Theology (Museo Diocesano) and the Basilica of Sant'Eustorgio (Basilica di Sant'Eustorgio) founded in the 4th century AD, the Portinari chapel (Cappella Portinari), and the early Christian cemetery.   • 3.3 euros (33%) to the Poldi Pezzoli Museum - This private collection has been open to the public since 1881. A good collection of weapons, armor, Persian carpets, Flemish tapestries, paintings of the XIV-XIX centuries, antique ceramics, Venetian glass, Renaissance furniture. Be sure to see Sandro Botticelli's 1479 Madonna and Book. The museum is located at Via Manzoni 12. A ticket costs 10 euros, and you pay 6.7.
  • 1 euro (17%) for climbing to the 108-meter Branca tower (Torre Branca) in Sempione Park (Parco Sempione). Pay 5 euros instead of 6.
  • 3.3 euros (33%) for a ticket to the Bagatti Valsecca House Museum (Palazzo Bagatti Valsecchi) at Via Gesù 5. Open except Mondays from 13:00 to 17:45.   • 7 euros (20%) for visiting the Blue Note Jazz Club of Milan Via Via Pietro Borsieri 37 is not far from the vertical forest (Bosco Verticale). The program of performances can be viewed on the official website www.bluenotemilano.com. The show starts at 21:00 and 23:00. The ticket office is open from Tuesday to Saturday from 14:00 to 22:00. It is recommended not only for jazz lovers, but also for everyone who wants to spend an unforgettable evening. You can come to dinner before the show, the discount on food does not apply, but for the ticket pay 28 euros instead of 35.
  • 5 euros (33%) for a cruise on the Navigli canal, pay 10 euros instead of 15. The pier is located at: Alzaia Naviglio Grande 4. From Monday to Thursday, tours start at 15:00, 16:00, 17:00 hours. On Friday, Saturday, Sunday and the beginning of every hour from 11:00 to 18:00.

To receive a 25% discount on trips to outlets, show your Milano Card at the Milan Visitor Center ticket office at Largo Cairoli 18 and buy a ticket at:

  • Seravalle Designer Outlet. A ticket costs 20 euros for buses at 10:00 and at 13:30, 25 euros for a bus departing at 11:00. You will pay 16 or 20 euros respectively. Save at least 4 euros. The weekend is December 25 and 26, January 1 and Easter Catholic Sunday.
  • FoxTown Outlet. Ticket for 16 euros instead of 20. Departure of the bus at 10:00 and 13:00. Save 4 euros.
  • Vicolungo Outlet or Fidenza Village. Departure daily at 10:30 in the morning. Ticket for 16 euros instead of 20. Save 4 euros.

How to activate?

You can activate Milano Card immediately upon arrival at the Visitor Center tourist center immediately at the exit of the central station (Milano Centrale). It is open daily from 09:00 to 14:00 and from 15:00 to 19:00. In most cases, public transport from Malpensa or Bergamo airports will still take you to the central station, so it’s very convenient.
