You get up earlier, you catch more: Italy's fish markets in photographs

Italian cuisine is rich and varied. At first glance it seems that it consists of pasta, pizza, mozzarella, but this is far from the case. Go to the Italian supermarket and you will see a large selection of products that local people use every day to make home-cooked masterpieces.

All regions of Italy, except Umbria, are washed by the seas. Therefore, on the tables of Italians, fish takes pride of place - they cook seafood 2-3 times a week. In cities, seafood is bought in stores or from trusted suppliers. In coastal villages, the situation is different: the main place to buy fresh fish, like many years ago, remains the fish market.

The golden rule of early awakening works here nowhere. The sooner the markets open from 5-6 in the morning, you arrive at the place, the more chances you have to see a selection of seafood that Poseidon shared this morning with the fishermen. For sleepyheads and lazy people who like to soak in bed, a couple of sardines and small shrimp will be up to 10-11 in the morning.
